DDCC #68: Oh Joy

Goodmorning everyone,

thank you for stopping by today.

Can't believe 2009 is almost over. The past year we've seen so mnay beautifull and very creative cards, we hope you all will keep joining us in 2010.

Back to our last challenge where we asked you to show us your cards with handmade embellishments.

We've seen fabulous cards with beautifull handmade embellishments. Thank you all for inpiring us with those cards.

The winner of the 4 images donated by Sassy Studio Designs is....

Congratulations Beverly!! Please send Karin a email for more info about your prize.

This week we would like you to create a Joy-folded card.

Monica created a step-by-step tutorial on how create this card.

And our sponsor for this challenge is....

They kindly donate 3 surprise stamps from their collection.

Tutorial

Step 1: 1. Cut a piece of carstock at 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and score it at 5 1/2". This I will call the card.
cut 11,5cm x 21,5 cm. score at 14cm

Step 2: Cut another piece of cardstock at 3" x 8" and score it at 4". This I will call the flap.
cut at 7,5cm x 20cm. score at 10cm

2. Cut another piece of cardstock at 3

Step 3: 3. Adhere a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of designpaper on the inside of the card.
10,5cm x 13cm

Step 4: Adhere a 2 3/4" x 4" piece of designpaper on the card front.
NL: Plak een stuk dessinpapier van 2 3/4" x 4" op de binnenkant van de kaart.
7cm x 10,5cm

Step 5: Adhere a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of designpaper on the inside of the flap.
7cm x 9,5cm

Step 6: Adhere a 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of designpaper on the flap front.
7cm x 9,5cm

Step 7: Adhere the back of your flap to the inside of the card. Make sure the fold of your flap is pointing to the right.

Now you have your Joy Fold Card. Just fold the card front and fold the flap over the front. You see? Splendit!

The next step is not nescesarry, but it will secure your flap from opening, so you might want to go throught this step too.

Step 8: Stamp or cut out a complimentary image, adhere it with some dimensionals slighly over the edge of the flap to keep it closed.

Finish your card by decorating it the way you like. Have fun!

I have stamped the flowers on this card with a Making Memories Acrylic Flower Stamp Set and did some faux stitching around the edges.

I've made the big flower out of fabric and a ribbon for the steel. The apple, star, butterfly and small flowers too I've made with polymerclay.
